A native of Chicago’s south side, she was primarily educated in Chicago Public Schools and the Archdiocese of Chicago. The first in her family to receive a college degree, Dr. Nay has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; Master's degree in Inner City Studies; and Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership.
Currently, she serves as the Executive Director of Educational Opportunity Programs at Chicago State University. Within her current role, she administers federal-funded programs which support students and families from disadvantaged backgrounds with their pursuit of postsecondary education opportunities. These services include enrichment courses and college exploratory services for high school students and college application and financial aid services, as well as GED placement services for adults. She also travels across the country, advocating for college access and success for all.
Crediting her success to her faith in God and her will to not only survive, but to live, create impact and be a source for hope while inspiring others who share similar stories, Dr. Nay is paving her own lane in the literary space. She is the author of Truthfully Speaking: An Inspirational Memoir of Discovery, Acceptance, & Growth, as well as co-author of It Takes Money Honey: Guaranteed Strategies to Wealth Creation, Proven Tips for Financial Freedom and Developing Faith and Sis, Stand on My Shoulders: A collection of letters and lessons to help the 20-something year old woman navigate life.
